Sami runs the London Marathon - 'The Comet' 27th March 2008
Sami Colvin, licensee of La Concha wine bar in Station Place, Letchworth GC, is
hoping to raise more than £3,000 for Everyman - a charity which funds research into
prostate and testicular cancer.
The 34-year-old said it has always been her goal to run the marathon and she jumped
at the chance to support Everyman because her uncle had had prostate cancer.
She said: "Although the training is very hard, knowing I am helping such a worthwhile
cause has given me such strength and determination."
She added: "The training is going really well. I have actually surprised myself."
Sami's training includes running three to five miles three times a week, as well
as longer runs every weekend.
She said: "I don't have a time I want to complete the course in. My target is just
to complete it successfully!"
